A battle between Mexican boxer Israel González and Uzbekistan hopeful Shakhobidin Zoirov is to determine the IBA Pro World Champion in 54 kg, weight category. Their 10-round title fight will become a main event at the first-ever IBA Champions’ Night in Mexico set to take place in the city of Aguascalientes on April 6 2024. González has 28 wins, 5 losses and 1 draw in his professional record, he has competed for 4 professional titles throughout his career without success. That said, the seasoned professional boxer has finished 12 of his fights by knockout. World and Olympic champion, Zoirov also has professional experience with 5 fights, all victorious, three of them finished with knockouts.
The IBA event will also feature other strong rivals looking for glory. Among them, six more Mexicans competing against American opponents. Mexican boxer Marco Verde Álvarez, who has 35 fights on his record, 29 of those successful, will face Pan-American bronze medalist, Cuban prospect Jorge Cuellar Terry to dispute the IBA American Champion title at 71 kg.
Another title fight for the American continent will be featured in 57 kg. between undefeated Mexican boxer Bryan Acosta (20 wins – 0 losses) and Alberto Ezequiel Melián from Argentina (11-2).
Mexican boxer José Miguel Borrego (20-4) has already taken part in IBA Champions’ Night. Joselito Collado from Dominican Republic (17-3) will become his rival in the 8-round ranking fight.
In the 86 kg. division, IBA World Championships bronze medalist Rogelio Romero from Mexico is to face Marlo Delgado from Ecuador, who has 7 professional victories so far. The ranking fight will consist of 6-rounds.
In the 92 kg., 6-round ranking fight, Mexican Francisco Cantabrana Soto (8-1) will face off against Julio César Castillo from Ecuador, who is the IBA World Championships silver medalist.
In the opening bout, Carlos Vargas Jaquez (17-2) meets with Shon Mondragón from the USA (8-0-1) in a 6-round ranking fight.

Challenge of Champions is a single-elimination boxing tournament taking place in Mexico, the boxing world capital, hosted by boxing greats Sergio «Maravilla» Martínez and Erik «El Terrible» Morales.
All fights will have six rounds of two minutes.
On the first stage, there will be eight matches of Mexican boxers agaist foreign fighters. The selection of the match-ups will be done ramdomly according to the rules established by the World Boxing Council (WBC).
The winners of the semi-finals will take on each other to decide who wins the championship.
